Water Treatment Plant Operator Class III, Wastewater Operator Class I,
The Village of Attica, Water/Wastewater Treatment Facility is seeking a Utility Plant Operator to work weekdays, weekends, and holiday coverage. Rotation will be required.
This will be a full-time position with benefits including health care, life insurance, sick leave, vacation, paid holiday’s and OPERS retirement. Wages will be determined on EPA licensure and experience. Qualified individuals would start at $40 an hour.
Description: Under the supervision of the Water/Wastewater superintendent and Village Administrator. The position will assist with various phases of work involved in the water/wastewater. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
Assist in the operations of treatment facilities: make rounds of plants, record numerical values and data, perform lab analysis, regulate flow to the plant, operate pumping equipment and stations, grease equipment. Acts as Operator of Record for Water and Sewer; Oversees the industrial pre-treatment program and the backflow program.
Maintains required Licensure or certification.
Abilities: Must be in good physical condition and able to work in all weather conditions. Also, must be available for emergency repairs 24/7. Dependable, self-motivated, able to follow detailed instructions, work independently, valid driver’s license, and maintain a good work record. Probationary period of 90 days.
Required Knowledge and Abilities: Minimum requirements of a: Class III Water Treatment Plant Operator License and Class I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
