The National Rural Water Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to training, supporting, and promoting the water and wastewater professionals that serve small and rural communities across the country. NRWA provides education, training and technical assistance to all 50 States through affiliated State Rural Water Associations. Rural Water training and technical assistance covers every aspect of operating, managing and financing water and wastewater utilities.

The NRWA Events Coordinator assists with planning and management of NRWA annual events and other meetings. This involves working closely with NRWA staff, NRWA board members, State Association staff, and external vendors. This position reports to the Development Director.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Understand requirements for each NRWA event
  • Establish and maintain with relationships with vendors and contractors at various venues
  • Assist with planning all aspects of NRWA annual events
  • Assist with planning various NRWA meetings
  • Perform site visits at various venues for upcoming events
  • Coordinate with staff at various venue locations to ensure quality events
  • Work with NRWA communications staff to provide event information
  • Work within the NRWA Events & Meetings team to plan, coordinate, & execute all NRWA events & meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Excellent communication skills, including written and interpersonal skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • Well organized with multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must be reliable and dependable
  • Previous event and meeting planning experience is preferred

  • This position has a salary range of $10,000-$500,000.
