ESSENTIAL DUTIES  AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

             Ensure water is treated to meet or exceed state and federal regulations.

             Daily inspections and record keeping of Water Plant and infrastructure.

             Follow strict sampling guidelines and keep organized records of all samples results.

             Maintenance and upkeep of Water Plant and infrastructure.

             Calibrates, modifies or repairs instrumentation and control equipment.

             Performs related duties as assigned.

 

DESIRED MININUM QUALIFICATIONS:

             Education and Experience:

(A) Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.

(B)  Two years of experience in a water utility, or

(C)  Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

              Necessary knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

(A) Working knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials methods and procedures used in water treatment plant maintenance and operation activities: working knowledge of laboratory procedures and practices.

(B)  Skill in operation some of the listed tools and equipment.

(C)  Ability to perform process control calculations, Ability to work safely, Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

                   Valid State Drivers license.

                   Certification as Class One Water Treatment Operator or must pass examination for Certification within one year of hire as an Operator in Training.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

 

                     Ability to work with Excel, Word, Outlook.

                     Ability to use technology at plant in field.
