The Benton Washington Regional Public Water Authority is a regional wholesaler currently supplying 17 municipal and rural Public Water Systems with a combined service population of approximately 135,000. BWRPWA is currently seeking 2 individuals to fill the roles of a NIGHT Water Treatment Plant Operator and 1 individual for a Water Treatment Plant Maintenance Position. All of the BWRPWA positions offer full time employment with competitive pay, weekly pay, double time for work on recognized holidays, advancement opportunity, company paid training, Medical Insurance (employees pay 24% of premium),
Company paid Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance, and paid Vacation, Sick, and Personal Leave Time, as well as Uniforms and work clothing. After one year of employment, employees are eligible to participate in a 6% matching 457 retirement program and a Tuition assistance program to further secondary and / or Vo-tech education.
NIGHT WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR (2 Openings) – This position is for operating a public water treatment plant. After a 4-to-6-week initial training period of working 4 x 10-hour day shifts weekly, the Operator trainee or Licensed Operator will then move to a Night Shift that works from 7 PM to 7 AM on alternating 36 (3 Day) and 48 hour (4 Day) weeks. Operators work on weekends every other month, and due to the weekend shift cycling, have 8 paid weeks off per year. Operator starting pay is determined by their actual Treatment Plant Experience and licensure for Water Treatment by the
Arkansas Department of Health. The pay ranges listed below are for each level of Water Treatment Plant Operator and annual amounts include the anticipated 8 hours of Overtime every two weeks.
Water Treatment Operator I – Entry Level/ No Experience $41,184 annually ($18.00 per Hour)
Water Treatment Plant Operator II – 1 Year Experience, Grade 3 Water Treatment License – $45,760
annually ($20.00 per Hour) to $50,336 annually ($22.00 per Hour)
Water Treatment Plant Operator III – 3 Years of Experience and Grade 4 Water Treatment and Grade 4 Water Distribution License – $54,912 annually ($24.00 per Hour) to $82,368 annually ($36.00 per Hour)
In addition, Night Operators earn a Shift Differential for working the Night Shift.
WATER TREATMENT PLANT MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT – BWRPWA currently has one open position for a Maintenance Assistant or Maintenance Specialist. This position involves doing maintenance activities within the Water Treatments Facility including but not limited to grounds
maintenance, pump and motor maintenance, water transmission line installation or repair / replacement, system appurtenances repair and replacement, plumbing and equipment repairs or replacement, instrument calibrations, and other activities required to keep the treatment facility
up and running. The Maintenance Department works Monday through Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM. The pay ranges, based on 40 Hour weeks, for Maintenance Staff are dependent on experience and licensure with the Arkansas Department of Health.
Maintenance Assistant – Entry level, no experience – $37,440 annually ($18.00 per Hour) to $41,600 annually ($20.00 per Hour)
Maintenance Specialist I – 1 year experience and a Grade 3 Water Distribution License – $43,680 annually ($21.00 per Hour) to $52,500 annually ($25.00 per Hour)
Maintenance Specialist II – 5 years of Distribution Experience and a Grade 4 Water Distribution License and a Grade 4 Water Operator License – $54,080 annually ($26.00 per Hour) to $81,120 annually ($39.00 per Hour)
