Job Description

The role of the Water Training & LSLI Specialist is to support the association’s goals and objectives by providing education and technical assistance to water utilities throughout the state of Indiana. The Water Training & LSLI Specialist duties include creating relevant training materials to meet the needs of water operators and trainees. This position requires a level of comfortability with public speaking, and the individual must be effective in conveying pertinent information. The Water Training & LSLI Specialist will also work to provide education and training on the most current LCRR information and requirements. This position requires a high level of autonomy, as well as regular collaboration with other Alliance staff and outside agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive):

Create training materials that meets the needs of operators and trainees, including but not limited to, all areas of operations, maintenance, management, security, loan application, and health and environmental issues
Collaborate with office administration regarding training materials for state approval of CEUs
Collaborate with other groups and associations in accordance with Lead Service Line Inventory Program
Providing education and technical assistance to utilities in order to meet LSLI requirements as per the state of Indiana
Strong focus on meeting various required deadlines
Other job duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Education, Licensing & Skills:

Water system operations: 5 years (Preferred)
WT2 or greater operator certification from State of Indiana (Required)
IN Driver’s License (Required)
Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
Ability to create training materials through proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
Knowledgeable of LCRR requirements
Skills or experience in public speaking
Ability to commute/relocate:

Individual would be provided with a company vehicle to fulfill LSLI grant duties
Travel to onsite trainings, events, staff meetings, and to fulfill LSLI grant duties throughout the state of Indiana
Work from home on days not traveling
Travel within Indiana for Alliance events is required (5-6 times per year)
Travel may be required for out-of-state conferences with NRWA (1-2 times per year)
 

Job Type & Benefits

Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday

The Alliance is a training and technical assistance trade association with over 1,000 members, including utilities and Associate Members throughout the state of Indiana.
